Sunday Night Market

After spending the day at The Grand Canyon, we went to the Sunday Night Market-- a huge market that spans the downtown area of Chiang Mai on Sunday nights. We ate there- I had chicken skewers and a passion fruit and banana shake for dinner. It was phenomenal. As we walked we came across a vendor from Chiang Mai University selling homemade wine for 35B (about $1!) I tried strawberry wine which tasted like fruit juice. After our wine we went to the bathroom and I experienced a Thailand first--- before entering the bathroom I had to take my shoes off and replace them with a pair of communal bathroom shoes. While in the bathroom I did some light reading (what else does one do in the bathroom?) and realized why the need for english teachers in SE Asia is so high.
