I made eggs, raisin bread toast and fruit for breakfast. It rained most of the morning but once it cleared up Mark and I headed down to the bay so we could do some rock jumping. The water was really, really refreshing. Getting out without a towel, despite the sun, still gave me blue lips. Some things never change. We hung out near the water for half an hour or so and then headed back for a hot shower.
Mark got packed and ready because he had a flight out of Pisa later in the day. He and I grabbed fish for lunch in town before we walked to the train. I kissed him goodbye on the platform, waved as he departed and then headed back to the house. There wasn't much left to explore in Cinque Terre so the five of us found a small cantina and spent the afternoon enjoying red wine made by a local (the only wine made by a woman here)
After, we went to Billy's, a local fish place overlooking the sea, that was oh so delicious. I had a filet of white fish, while my dad and Candace had pesto, Jimmy had spicy pasta and my mom had gluten free pasta with shrimp. I caught my mom eating a shrimp, shell on, and was appalled. "It's a lot of work to de-shell" she said. I shook my head and proceeded to shell all of her shrimp for her. And she thinks it was the tap water that was giving her a stomach ache...
After dinner we took my mom and dad on the vineyard walk that Candace, Jimmy and I had done earlier in the week. Since my dad had a little liquid courage it was easy to coax him to walk up the hill that he had scoffed at just days before. My parents really enjoyed the beautiful views and the sunset.
Once we finished we headed back to our deck for some dominoes before bed.
