Our plan was to take the bus to the airport but we were running late (shocker!) so we walked to Tony's (a diner that serves pretty great american food for a pretty great price) to have a quick bite. While there I booked a grab taxi (these are cheaper than a regular taxi) and confirmed for it to arrive at 8pm. However, it was 8:10 and our grab still hadn't arrived, so we had to hop in a regular taxi. #transportationfail
When we checked in for our Wizz Air flight they denied Mark's bag (even though I had already paid for additional cabin baggage) so he had to check it. In order to do this we had to leave the check in line and head to the other end of the airport for the customer service desk. The woman at the desk could not transfer the money I had already paid for the cabin baggage to cover part of the checked bag fee (which was 60 euro!) because she worked for the airport, not Wizz. I'd have to follow up with Wizz via email for a refund. Woof. After paying, we had to go back to the check in line to drop Mark's bag and get our boarding passes. Double woof.
We had time to spare before boarding our flight (shocker!) so we did some research regarding transport from the Budapest airport to our hostel. Turns out there's a bus that runs til 1:30am that goes from the airport into the city and it only costs 3 euro per ticket. #winning
We walked from the bus to our hostel in about 10 minutes and were given the lay of the land pretty quickly. By this time it was two o'clock in the morning so Mark and I headed straight to bed, but not before kissing our third roommate goodnight.
