Living abroad in Asia was one of the most life changing, exciting, trying periods of my life. When I left Thailand after ten months, I left with a newfound sense of self, an appreciation for other cultures, languages and ways of life, and most importantly, I left with the desire to continue traveling and exploring. I vowed that Asia wouldn't be my last trip, and so far, I've stuck to my word. My (now husband) Mark and I spent 10 days in the Philippines pretty early on in our relationship to make sure that we could "travel together" otherwise we knew we needed to go our separate ways. Luckily for us our little taste of Asia was just enough to get us talking about embarking on a new journey, together. It was crazy fast, and there were times between trying to paint and sell Mark's house to breaking my wrist to getting married that I didn't think we'd make it. But yet, here we are. We did it. We made it. And I couldn't be happier. So even though this blog is titled "jaclyns adventure abroad", it really is about the two of us and our experiences abroad together (told from my point of view of course!)
