last day of school

17 June 2016
Today is my last day of school with my K2 Wallabies. I am so proud of how far they've come over the course of the year and am so grateful for the opportunity to have taught them. Being told "Miss Jaclyn, this is the best day ever" when I went swimming with them, or hearing them reminisce about their favorite parts of the year, including me playing tag with them at recess made all of the trying moments that go along with teaching four year olds (hearing one of my students shriek with anguish because I just put my hand in the booger pile he had spent the entire story time creating) worth it.

To celebrate, I asked my two right hand ladies, Miss Dolly and P'Nun out for lunch. Because both women are Thai, I chose a Thai restaurant near school. When we arrived, both women inquired about the mexican restaurant across the street, saying that they'd seen me take my other thai friends out for mexican and that they would like to try it. Salud to margaritas and nachos ladies!

Our evening consisted of a buffet dinner at a nearby hotel compliments of the school. After, we headed to Bombay Blues, an indian shisha restaurant in Thong Lo. We'd only been sipping on drinks for about 45 minutes when the power cut. Damn. After hanging out for 20 minutes and realizing the lights, music and A/C wasn't coming on anytime soon, we headed out. Outside we found the reason for the power outage- a downed tree was laying across the wires and had cut the power for the entire neighborhood.
